  • From Boredom to Betterment: Making the Most of your Quarantine
I have a lot of strong, accomplished women in my family...but today on International Women's Day I want to talk about the brightest star in my world. Not only is she strong, smart, funny, silly, courageous, and stunningly gorgeous, but she lives every day with true kindness and compassion. I have seen her work two jobs and still come home and pour herself out to raise a beautiful little girl. She sacrifices constantly for her family. She's faced incredible challenges in life, always comes out on top, and never shies away from the next one. Her example inspires me to be a better man, and I'm beyond grateful to have her in my life. "Not as clumsy or random as a blaster...an elegant weapon, for a more civilized age." You might say I had a #quiet #valentinesday with a special lady. I stumbled upon this car while working the other night...let's talk about it! I have posted previously about being cautious of how much information you disclose on your car. This is an example of what certain circles call OSINT, or "open-source intelligence." The most benign decal placed in support of your loved ones can clue genuinely bad people in on information that makes you easier to victimize, and this is no different. Life is fluid, and what we plan for may not come to pass. Six months ago I thought I was on my way to #kabul on a #diplomaticsecurity contract. I was locked in, I had an itinerary. Not even a week before my departure date, #afghanistan fell to the Taliban, and I suddenly found myself #unemployed and without direction. There's something that can be said about going about all aspects of your life intentionally. Don't be a leaf in the wind, that has neither choice nor care about where it ends up. Live with purpose.
